Installation Guidelines & Warranty

Installation

To properly install Floory SPC hybrid planks, follow these steps:

  1. Preparation:
    1. Gather tools and materials: You will need a measuring tape, level, utility knife, rubber mallet, spacers, tapping block, and a pull bar.
    2. Prepare the subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is clean, level, and dry. Fill in any holes or uneven areas with a levelling compound and let it dry.
  2. Acclimate the planks:
    1. Store the SPC planks in the room where they will be installed for at least 48 hours before installation to allow them to acclimate to the room's temperature and humidity.
  3. Plan your layout:
    1. Measure the room and determine the best starting point and direction for your installation. Ideally, planks should run parallel to the longest wall or the primary light source.
    2. Calculate how many rows of planks you will need and check if the last row will be too narrow. If necessary, adjust the width of the first row so that both the first and last rows are of similar width.
  4. Install the underlayment (if required):
    1. Unroll the underlayment and trim it to fit the room. Overlap the seams and tape them together to create a continuous moisture barrier.
  5. Begin installation:
    1. Start in a corner and lay the first plank with the tongue side facing the wall. Use spacers to maintain a 1/4 inch (6-8mm) expansion gap between the planks and the wall.
    2. Lock the short end of the next plank into the first plank at a 20-30 degree angle. Lower the plank gently and use a rubber mallet to tap the joint to ensure a tight fit. Continue this process to complete the first row.
  6. Stagger the seams:
    1. Cut a plank in half to begin the second row. This will ensure that the seams between planks are staggered, providing a more visually appealing and structurally stable floor.
    2. Attach the plank to the first row by inserting the long edge of the plank into the groove at a 20-30 degree angle. Lower it gently and tap it into place with the rubber mallet.
  7. Continue installing rows:
    1. Work your way across the room, staggering the seams, and maintaining the expansion gap. Use a tapping block and rubber mallet to ensure a tight fit between planks.
  8. Install the final row:
    1. Measure and trim the planks to fit the remaining space, ensuring that you maintain the expansion gap. Use a pull bar to secure the planks in the final row.
  9. Install transition moldings and trim:
    1. Install transition moldings, such as T-moldings or reducers, between the new floor and adjacent floors.
    2. Remove spacers and install baseboards or quarter round moldings to cover the expansion gap.
  10. Clean and inspect:
    1. Sweep or vacuum the floor to remove dust and debris.
    2. Inspect the floor for any gaps or uneven areas, and make any necessary adjustments.

After completing these steps, your new SPC hybrid plank floor should be properly installed and ready for use. Remember to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for care and maintenance to ensure the longevity and appearance of your new floor.

Warranty — SPC Hybrid

This warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and cannot be transferred. It is the responsibility of the installer and/or homeowner to inspect planks prior to installation. Any planks that are defective or visually unacceptable should be discarded or used in another location of the room. Floory is not responsible for any costs related to product or labor when planks with visible defects or irregularities have been installed.

Important

Please ensure that you follow the SPC installation and maintenance guidelines in order to fulfill the conditions of this warranty. Any floor installed outside of the printed installation and maintenance parameters may result in denial of your claim.

Residential and light commercial warranty

This warranty applies to Floory's SPC series, SPC (Stone Composite) flooring, that is purchased from an authorised dealer and installed in a residential or light commercial area. Floory assures that at the time of sale, the SPC flooring sold under this warranty is free from defects in material and manufacturing, and it conforms to the standard specifications for the product category. Additionally, Floory warrants that when the flooring is installed and maintained according to product specifications and used according to its intended purpose, it will not wear through, delaminate, separate, buckle or cup as a result of a manufacturing defect.

In the event that your SPC flooring fails for any of the above reasons, Floory will replace, at its option, a portion or all of the flooring at no cost to you, the original purchaser, as long as the original purchaser still owns the property where the flooring was installed. Please note that the warranty only includes replacement material and excludes any labor costs. The SPC warranty is only extended to flooring that is maintained in normal environmental conditions, meaning that the heating and ventilating systems are working to maintain an interior humidity level between 30% to 50% and a room temperature between 65°F to 85°F year-round.

Warranty period

The SPC series comes with a 30-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase for residential applications, and a 10-year warranty for light commercial applications.
